About the El Paso Service Processing Center
El Paso Service Processing Center is located in El Paso on Montana Avenue. This ICE facility does allow phone calls, although you cannot call your loved one directly, you can only request updates. The facility is reachable by phone from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.
This facility largely holds individuals awaiting their immigration court hearings, asylum seekers who have been stopped while crossing at a port of entry, those who have been transferred from local jails or CBP, and individuals with pending bond decisions. There’s also many long-term detainees who are waiting for their final case outcomes. Unfortunately, the backlog of immigration court cases means that people may be detained here for months on end while waiting for their day in court.

Locating or Contacting a Loved One
The ICE Detainee Locator System allows you to search for detainees by their A-number or full name. This system is not automatic, so your family member may not show up for 24 to 48 hours.
Detainees cannot receive incoming calls. However, they may be able to call out. You can leave messages for them on the facility’s message system.
Unlike many other ICE detention centers, El Paso Service Processing Center does have tablets. The messages you send are non-confidential, but you can communicate with them via tablet by depositing funds into their account.
The facility has set visitation hours. On weekdays, detainees can receive visitors between 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. On weekends and holidays, visitation is allowed between 11:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M., and then again from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Visits may only be one hour each. Attorney visits are permitted from 7:00 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. Attorneys approved for video teleconference meetings can also do remote meetings with their detained clients.
